The exhibition In Black and White presents artworks from the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation Collection with various themes.
Light and shadow and their variations take turns in the exhibition. There are dark shades with serious themes but also ease brought by light.
Along with light and shadows, corporeality is highlighted in the exhibition. Man’s body expresses emotions and experiences in many ways. By his body, man also percepts the space and makes observations. Artists have the skill to depict inner conditions through human body, pick the whole story of life with a camera or paintbrush.
Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation Collection is one the most significant and extensive collections of contemporary Finnish art. The exhibition also includes artworks that are exhibited for the first time in Rovaniemi.
