The beloved Finnish fashion designer Jukka Rintala will bring his exhibition to Rovaniemi in November 2019. The versatile designer has been defining Finnish fashion for over four decades, and his marks/brands have become known at the Independence Day receptions, gala fairs and cultural events.

Rintala captures the moment in his paintings

Rintala has the ability to capture the essentials with his brush, whether it's painting or sketching for the client. The exhibition highlights Jukka Rintala's entire artist image - a strong line and a brush stroke, while on the other hand light and delicate handprints are repeated in spectacular costumes, fashion drawings, watercolor paintings and design prints. The northern themes also have their place - the feeling of snow and ice is emphasized in white lace, and the new Aurora Borealis design, Golden Lights, is inspired by the North.

Rintala has an exceptional combination of an industrial designer and free artist. In addition to graphics and paintings, the fashion designer and entrepreneur has designed interior products and jewelry. In his own words, his life's work is an artistic whole, joined by fashion. Exhibitions and shows have been created in close cooperation with the visual artist, Matti Vaskelainen since 1984.

Kirsti Paakkanen, Counselor for Entrepreneurs, is the patron of the exhibition.  Exhibition design and visual realisation by visualist Matti Vaskelainen.

Fashion artist Jukka Rintala is known around the world for his sophisticated unique evening gowns. They are often sculptural, rich and dramatic, or sometimes simple and simplistic. Rintala's industrial clothing line was launched in 2008 and all of his products are produced in Finland. Rintala has had numerous exhibitions and fashion shows at home and abroad.
