Lapland Chamber Orchestra is the northernmost professional chamber orchestra in the European Union. The orchestra has 18 full time musicians and excellent facilities - the musicians each have their own rehearsal room.

We currently have a vacancy for:

Principal double bass

Post commencing 1 August 2021.
Salary is in accordance with the collective agreement on wages and terms of employment.

Audition requirements:
1:
C. Ditters von Dittersdorf: Concerto in D Major, 1. movement with cadenza or
J.B. Vanhal: Concerto in C Major, 1. movement with cadenza or
F. Schubert: Arpeggione –Sonata in G minor, 1. movement.
2:
Orchestra and chamber music excerpts, available on request from kaisa-reetta.karhu@rovaniemi.fi from 26 February on.

The audition will be played with orchestral tuning.

Audition date: Saturday 10 April 2021 at 10 a.m. in Helena Hall in Lapland Music Institute, 2. floor, Jorma Eton tie 8B, 96100 Rovaniemi, Finland.

There is a trial period of six months for the post. The chosen candidate must present a medical certificate.

I concertmaster

Post commencing 1 August 2021.

The orchestra arranges a fine violin for the I concertmaster to use in this work.

Audition requirements:

1. W.A Mozart: Violin Concerto No 3 in G Major KV 216, No 4 in D Major KV 218 or No 5 in A Major KV 219, I and II movements, including cadenzas
2. One solo violin piece of your own choice, not to exceed 10 mins. It can also be a movement from a larger work.
3. Orchestra and chamber music excerpts that will be made available via email on request starting 22nd March.

Audition date: Saturday 22 May 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Helena Hall of the Lapland Music Institute, 2. floor, Jorma Eton tie 8B, 96100 Rovaniemi, Finland.
