On Line! shows many perspectives of contemporary drawing – emotions, landscapes and outlines. Line is like a fingerprint, every artist has a unique one. In Korundi’s summer exhibition the line takes over the whole of downstairs.
Exhibition On Line! emphasizes drawing and line as an independent art form. Every line is inimitable, because the tiniest line an artist draws influences the drawing on the whole, creating something that didn’t exist before. Line is not only a trace of something, but it also outlines and bounds things. In addition to form, the line in itself is essential in the act of drawing; how thick, dark and strong the line is. By drawing it one can also reflect and see the world as a drawing. Artist can observe the existing lines that make forms visible by drawing them. Line makes things visible.
In addition to the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation Collection, we have invited two masters of line to take part in the exhibition: Patrick Huse from Norway and Kalle Lampela from Rovaniemi.
Exhibition opening Friday 8th June at 6 pm. Welcome!
