In 1841, The French artist Francois-Auguste Biard painted artworks where the Duke of Orleans travels to Lapland with an expedition in 1795. The artworks show how the French scientists were interested in Lapland in early times and there were important people on the journeys. These artworks have never been on display in Lapland or even in Finland.
